INTRODUCING JOANNE SOPT
We have been praying for many years for a way to help the Bible Institute ministry continue. It is exciting to see how the Lord worked in this! In God's sovereign plan, He directed us to have a short-term ministry in France in 2003 after Gayle's sickness with malaria and during the crises in the Ivory Coast. It was there we first met Joanne while she was on a mission's trip. We kept in contact over the years and met up with her again in 2006 while she was in Paris. We shared our burden with her for the Bible Institute ministry and the desire to see it become independent. Joanne began praying to see how God could use her to help. In January 2008, she made the decision to join us in our endeavor to start-up a business center. Our prayer is that the proceeds from this can support the Bible Institute.
Joanne left her job in April 2008 and came to the Ivory Coast in September. Joanne is a graduate from Bob Jones University with a degree in accounting. She has close to 4 years of experience working for an auditing firm; two of those years being in France. Joanne has already begun organizing and setting up the goals and design for the business. She has also been a great asset to our ministry with her knowledge of French. We appreciate her love for the Lord and her desire to help in the ministry here. Brad Schweibold & his family
We praise God for the help of Brad Schweibold & his family. He and his son, DJ, came to the Ivory Coast in September with computers to help us set up our business center for the Bible Institute. It was a joy to have them here with us. Even the children enjoyed Brad as he preached and used a child in his illustration. (In case you noticed DJ holding an animal - yes, that is a chimp! We are "chimpsitting" for a man who had to go to his mother's funeral. See pictures under "Personal".)

New School Year
The new school year has begun for the Bible Institute. There are 10 new students who are taking the first year classes. We praise God for these 10 men! We are thankful to Andy Messer who taught the first class. This was a great help to us and to the students! One of our 4th year students, Paul, is now teaching the 2nd class while Steve and Emmanuel are working with Joanne to organize the Business center. Steve and Emmanuel are preparing to teach the next two classes.
Along with the 10 first year students, there are also 5 students who are in their 4th year apprenticeship program. Each of these students are ministering in their home churches while Steve and Emmanuel working closely with them.
Please pray for these students this year as well as for the Bible Institute ministries.

On September 9 Gayle spoke at a ladies' camp in a place called Grand Lahou. It was a joy to be with these women who came from all over the country to study God's Word!
