Steve's graduation

On May 7th, Steve received his master's degree from Baptist Bible Seminary.  He started this 20 years ago and took classes about every 4 years while we were in the states.  These courses have been a help to him as he teaches in the Bible Institute in the Ivory Coast.  We praise God that this part is finished!

Mother's Day
It was a joy to be in the states and have the opportunity to be with my mom, Valerie Stoughton.  I am so thankful that she is able to stay with Charlene and Sheldon.  Jill and her husband, Bobby, joined us all for lunch.  Mom is in the beginning stages of dementia, so please keep them in prayer.

December 2009

We celebrated Christmas with our Bible Institute students and their families.

We all meet at the beach and enjoyed eating rice, egg plant and palm nut sauce.

After the meal, we went to our home (which is close by) for dessert.  There Steve read the Christmas story and people sang.

We are glad that we can have these times together.

SEPTEMBER : UPDATE ON EMMANUEL'S HOUSE:

Pastor Emmanuel was thankful for the three gifts that were given to help with his home.
They still need cement for flooring,
plywood for the ceilings, and plumbing supplies.
If you would like to help this faithful pastor and his family finish their with their home,
your gifts would be appreciated.

Would you pray about this family’s need and perhaps give a gift this month to help them finish their house?  If God would lead you to help this faithful family, you can send your gift to Baptist Mid-Missions to the account of Steve King; mark it simply “Building”.

AUGUST:

Please pray with us concerning a project for a faithful servant of the Lord.

Pastor Emmanuel is teaching at the Bible Institute and is Assistant Director of the ministries on the mission property.  He, his wife, and five children have been living in 3 small rooms on the mission property.  Their 6th child will be born at the end of this August.  They are in desperate need of new housing.

For the last year they have been working at trying to build a small house, but funds have been limited.  He has the cement walls of the house done and is just now putting on a roof.
They still need the plywood for the ceilings, wooden doors, cement for the floors, plumbing, and electricity.
