Dear Friends and Family,
Our trip to Blolequin in June went real well. It was a delight to see the men in the rural (bush) area. The last time I was there was in 2002. They were so happy to see us there! I spent time with them planning the seminar we will be hosting there in August. We will probably have about 100 people including pastors, deacons, church leaders, Bible Institute de Blolequin students and their wives. We are thankful that Larry Fogle from Baptist Mid-Missions is coming out to teach this year. The yearly seminar is always such a blessing for these church leaders.
While there, Emmanuel did a Sunday School teacher’s workshop. He has become quite a good Bible teacher. I am thankful that he feels God leading him to work with us in the Bible Institute ministry! We distributed some clothing, which mostly had been given by missionaries. It was good to see Emmanuel and his wife go through their things and send some of their own things as well. The men were so grateful! I have a great appreciation for these rural pastors when I see their conditions. They are faithful, but feeding their families and taking care of the necessities in life is a great struggle.
On the way back to San-Pedro, we stopped by Emmanuel’s village. His father and mother were there, and I gave the gospel to 10 or so people in his family. Emmanuel has been witnessing to them for years. We praise God that his younger brother accepted Christ!!! Thanks for your prayers.
We have been praying for many years for financial support for the continuing ministry of the Bible Institute. We know that we will not always be on the scene and the financial help may be cut off. We have been praying about beginning a Copy center/Christian book store which will create an income to defray the costs of the Institute and provide some work for students. In the last three weeks God has provided a donor who has given the funds to modify the building and purchase some of the necessary equipment. He also had the idea of a cyber café and is willing to purchase computers with the software for this. He and his family want to come and help us put things together. We praise God for providing people who appreciate the ministry here and are able to give towards it.
We thank those who have been praying for Bertin and Agnes and their new mission work in Divo. This new church plant has been growing as they are evangelizing and discipling new believers. We enjoy participating with them in their evangelism outreaches and try to be a support when we are not there. They are doing a great work reaching their neighborhood. Read about our June 7th trip to Divo under "Events".
THEY NEED YOUR HELP!
The church has been meeting in a local school, but the school administrator asked them to leave. Religious groups can no longer meet in public places. They have found a half acre lot with the foundation and walls of an unfinished house for $7,000. It is in an excellent location in a residential area only 20 yards from a main road. Please pray with us that God will supply the funds needed.
Thanks for your partnership.
Steve and Gayle
