HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2010
Dear Friends,
It is such a delight to enjoy our family this Thanksgiving! We are able to do this once every four years. As you are aware Gayle’s mom is in the nursing home, so we came to Tunkhannock, PA and spent the day with her. It was humorous to us that mom wanted to eat her pumpkin pie before she finished her meal. Although she is 88 years old, we had to make her eat the meal first. She would have never allowed such eating habits to any of her children and grandchildren. Today was a nice day. We love her and have made every effort to spend time with her this year.
God has been so faithful to us this year. We have enjoyed seeing so many friends as we have visited churches. The visits are so good. Even though we are on the field for such a long period, the fellowship we enjoy with you our friends as we return is so good. Thank you to all.
There are several things we would publicly say, ‘’Thank You Father.’’
Since we have been in living in Baltimore, we have enjoyed the home of Greg and Beth Young. We give praise and thanks to our heavenly Father for this couple who said to us, ‘’This house would not sell and we believe God allowed this so you, Steve and Gayle could live here.’’ The home has been our refuge as we return from our meetings.
We are thankful as well for the continuing ministry in the Ivory Coast since we are not there. We get reports from Bertin and Agnes in Divo about the new church there. Pastor Parfait is busy at the church being planted on the campus at the Bible Institute. Also, we are thankful for Emmanuel who is leading the instruction at the Bible Institute. Everything is going forward.
We are thankful for the faithful churches and individuals who continue to support us and our ministries. We feel honored and humbled at the same time that so many have expressed their happiness to support us. Also, there are many people who have given one time financial and tangible gifts. We have been collecting toys for children and gifts for men and women and so many have responded. Our network of prayer, financial, and gift supporters has been such a blessing to us.
‘’Father, May your name be glorified in all these things!’’
IMPORTANT PRAYER REQUEST: The final election in Côte d’Ivoire is this Sunday, November 28. As I have been reading internet news articles, the two candidates in the final elections have been campaigning this past month. Today, they had a televised debate. Please pray for the country as they approach these important elections.
Pray that there will be no violence or intimidation towards voters.. Pray that the process will be clear and without any question and that the UN observers will be able to verify the winner.
We appreciate all who are receiving this letter. Thank you for your encouragement.
We thank you so much for your support and prayers!
