Steve and Gayle King Serving with Baptist Mid-Missions in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa Dear Friends, ‏ Greetings from the Ivory Coast! We have finally settled in. The car is finally working. (The mice who made their nest in our air conditioning unit are out and the unit replaced. The dogs who were chasing the mice, chewed on much of the rubber underneath the car, so that is replaced.) Other things were ruined by the salt air (phone cables, etc, which needs replacing when you live by the ocean). Some things are beyond replacing, but that is fine. If you would ask if it is worth living near the ocean - my answer is, YES! Especially when we can get a bit of fresh air coming from the ocean when it is extremely hot! Good news! Our container arrived to the port here in San Pedro. Steve worked with the customs on what tax we have to pay. We praise God that we were granted some exoneration which helped the cost. Thank you so much for your prayers! Now that the container arrived, this means sorting through boxes again! Our front porch is filled with clothes, shoes, etc. We don't really mind, though. The things that were donated to people here will be very much appreciated. We have many Bibles and things for the ministry, and that makes it all worth it! :-) Timothée, a young boy in our church, died today after being sick for a long time. His mom, Clarisse, is a faithful Christian lady. We visited her this morning and found many ladies waiting and crying in her small 2 room house. She seemed encouraged by the words Steve shared from Scripture. Our prayer is that God will give wisdom to reach her husband for the Lord. Steve is preparing to teach the Trinity for his course at the Bible Institute next week. Please pray for these students, as well as those who are doing their 4th year apprenticeship.
