September began with the new school year for the Bible Institute. There are 10 new students who signed up to take the first year classes. We praise God for these 10 men and their desire to serve the Lord! We are thankful to Andy Messer who taught the first class. This was a great help to us and to the students! One of our 4th year students, Paul, is now teaching the 2nd class while Steve and Emmanuel are working on other projects. This week Emmanuel will begin teaching on the New Testament, and Steve will begin his class on “Preparing Messages and the Pastoral Ministry”.
Along with the 10 first year students, there are also 5 students who are in their 4th year apprenticeship program. Each of these students is ministering in their home churches while Steve and Emmanuel are working closely with them. We have been praying for many years for a way to help the Bible Institute ministry continue. It is exciting to see how the Lord worked in this! In God's sovereign plan, He directed us to meet Joanne Sopt while we were in France. Joanne was on a mission’s trip and we kept in contact over the past five years. We praise God that she has agreed to come and help open up a business which will help support the Bible Institute ministry. Joanne arrived on September 17 and has been busy helping set up the business center. This center will provide the following services: Internet, photocopies, international phone calls, and a Christian library. Joanne has been a blessing to us already!
Also in September we received a visit from Brad Schweibold & his son, DJ. They came with computers to help us set up this business center. It was a joy to have them here with us! Please pray as we are getting things ready to open. Read more about their visits on our web page under “Events”.
Special news for the children: We are "chimp sitting" for a man who had to go to his mother's funeral. He will be leaving us this Saturday. To see Cookie, the chimp, see pictures under "Personal".
