Ministry Needs

We would like to share our burdens and struggles with you in order for you to feel like you have can get involved in our ministry, even being miles away. Your prayers are always coveted.

However, if you feel like the Lord has impressed on you to do more, we have listed below specific ways to help.  People are in need literally everywhere. However, one of the sections below may hit home, due to personal experience. Many of you can think back on how the Lord used other people in your lives to help you in times of needs. How great it would be to turn that memory into future memories of helping other individuals for the Lord’s glory.

In every ministry, there are needs, and it does not take much imagination to know what they are in a place like San Pedro. In a country where the average pastor's salary in a village is 10,000 CFA or $20 USD a month, one can imagine how much of a financial burden a child’s sickness or schooling can be to a pastor’s family with five children. Even if the parents are doing all in their power to find additional income, it oftentimes does not cover the living costs. So what happens? People are succumbed to the following options since the government does not offer much support: the child does not get the medicine, the child does not go to school, or the family does not properly eat. Missionaries in such a context are in a precarious situation. Knowing who to give money to and in what conditions requires much prayer and wisdom.

Pastors and the faithful members in their churches

As mentioned earlier, pastors and other members of the church body rarely earn enough money to adequately cover the expenses of their families. The following represents specific needs these individuals have:

  • Pastor Bertin buying property in Divo. Refer to "Local Missionary Expansion" section under "Ministries" for a more detailed account of this project.

  • Transportation, such as a mopeds

  • Laptops to prepare for sermons

  • Schooling for children

  • Medicine

The Bible school is growing each year, which is a wonderful thing to see. In order to adequately equip and encourage the students, the following projects exist:

  • Christian literature in French for the library – approximately 20 USD per book
  • Christmas gifts of shirts and ties

The business center was conceived as a response to the following questions: how will the ministry here become financially self-sufficient? what will happen to the ministry here if the missionaries leave from the area in the future? All of the proceeds of this center will be used to cover the mission’s costs. Refer to the "Evevts" section for a more detailed account of this project.

A start-up business has many start-up costs. The following lists other needs that we have in order to become fully functional:

  • Color printer
  • Fax machine
  • Scanner

The daily operational costs cannot be forgotten. Our goal is to be profitable, but as with any business, this may not always be the case The following represents a couple of daily costs:

  • 2,500 sheets of paper: $20 USD
  • Ink Cartridge: $80-$90 USD
  • Monthly Internet Connection: $40 USD
